Zelda Jean (Boelsing) Klouda

MADISON-Zelda Jean (Boelsing) Klouda, passed away peacefully at Oakwood East Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, after a brief illness.
She was proud to tell people she was 93 1/2.
Zelda was born, along with her twin sister, Zona, at Madison General Hospital on Oct. 18, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Sarah (nee Keller) Boelsing; her brother, Gordon; sister, Zona; and nephew, Rodney Boelsing. Zelda is survived by her children, Michael (Julie) Springer, Terry (Tom) Rutlin, and Thomas (Sharon) Springer; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, Renee Frederick and RIta Neergaard.
Zelda graduated from Madison East High School and went on to work at Forest Products during World War II. She left the work force to raise her family and eventually returned to work at UW Primate Lab and UW Hospital. Zelda was very interested in genealogy and was proud that her family was designated a “Wisconsin Pioneer Family”. She loved all animals, especially her cats. Zelda was a much loved mom who always had her door open and her cookie jar full.
