Yu Jua Chen

Madison – Yu Jua Chen, age 92, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Capitol Lakes Care Facility.
She was born September 28, 1923 in China, the daughter of Yu Ai-Hua and Yu Shu-Tien. In 1943, Yu married Po Chen in China and in 1949 moved to Taiwan. In addition to her family and housekeeping, Yu was a civil servant in Taiwan for sixteen years, retiring in 1979.
Yu is survived by her brothers Yu Feng-Lin and Yu Feng-Fei of Brazil. Yu is further survived by her sons Chung-Yuan (Chu-Chin) Chen of China; Daniel (Koshyan) Chen of San Jose, California; Steve (Yeuh-Ling) Chen of Arcadia, California and by her daughters Chung-Ho Chen of Madison, Wisconsin; Chung-Nan (Chiao-Chen) Chen of China; Ann Chen (Charles) Cedergren of Madison, Wisconsin; Chung-Fu Chen of Madison, Wisconsin and Chung-Hsing Chen of Madison, Wisconsin. Yu is further survived by her grandchildren Li-Ren (Zhang-Yang) Chen and Li-Yueh (Ma-Lie) Chen of China; Lyu Meng (Fen-Li) and Hsiao Meng (Hsiao-Fung) Lyu of China; Brian Nien-Joe (Kristin) Lee of Madison, Wisconsin; Matthew Chen Cedergren of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sherman Chen (Elizabeth) Carll of Elk Grove Village, Illinois; Timothy Chen Carll of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Andrew C Chen of San Francisco, California; Sara V Chen of New York City, New York; Brandon A and Michael K Chen of Arcadia, California and Fernando (Joyce) Chen of Brazil. Yu is further survived by her great grandchildren Yi, Alx, Chuyang, Hongxuan and Hao of China; Braden and Carson of Madison, Wisconsin and Isabela of Brazil. Yu was preceded in death by her husband Po Chen, brother Yu Feng-Qi and son-in-law Charles Carll.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, February 13 from 10:00am until Noon at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton. Private burial services will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare.
