Wrestling coach faces child enticement, attempted sexual assault charges

A wrestling coach in Walworth County is facing charges of child enticement and attempted sexual assault of a child.
Steven Springsteen-Hensel, 31, appeared in Walworth County Circuit Court via video conference on Thursday. The judge set his bail at $15,000.
The Delavan Police Department said Springsteen-Hensel was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of Phoenix Middle School in Delavan.
Investigators said Springsteen-Hensel sent text messages to a 17-year-old boy soliticing oral sex. The boy told police, who set up a sting and arrested Springsteen-Hensel when he came to the school Tuesday, according to the Delavan Police Department.
“It was the result of a tip from our school resource officer,” said Delavan Police Chief Timothy O’Neill.
The alleged victim is not a student at the school and the alleged incident is not related to any school in the district, officials said.
Investigators said Springsteen-Hensel works as a coach at the Southern Lakes Wrestling Center in Elkhorn and that’s where he met the boy.
“We’re asking for the public’s help in identifying any additional criminal activity that may have happened as a result of this individual,” O’Neill said.
Springsteen-Hensel is scheduled to be back in court on May 23.
