Woman taken to hospital via Med Flight following crash at busy west side intersection

Police have closed a major highway on Madison’s west side following a three car crash with injuries that required Med Flight to be called.
The accident happened at the corner of McKee Road (County Highway PD) and Pleasant View Road (County Road M) just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the Madison police department, a car driven by a 53-year-old woman drove into the back of a car that was stopped on McKee, waiting to turn right onto South Pleasant View road. The crash caused the second vehicle to collide with another that was stopped in front of it.
According to the Madison fire department, the woman was pinned inside her vehicle, and had to be extricated by crew at the scene. She was transported to UW Hospital by Med Flight for possible life-threatening injuries after being treated by paramedics.
Traffic was blocked in all directions in order to let the Med Flight helicopter land near the scene. Pleasant View Road has been reopened, which McKee Road west of the intersection remains closed.
