Woman rescued from sinking vehicle, officials say

TOWN OF PRESTON, Wis. — Adams County emergency crews rescued a woman Thursday morning who was in a vehicle that was sinking in a lake, officials said.
Adams County sheriff’s officials responded just before 8:30 a.m. to a report of a vehicle in the water at Big Roche a Cri Lake near the Highway 13 bridge in the town of Preston, according to a release.
When deputies arrived, they could see a vehicle in the water that was rapidly sinking, officials said. It looked like the vehicle was occupied so deputies entered the water.
The only occupant, a woman, was extricated and taken to Moundview Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and is currently undergoing a mental health evaluation, according to the release.
