Woman rescued, crews searching for man after canoe capsizes on Fox Lake

FOX LAKE, Wis. — First responders rescued one woman and are searching for another person after their canoe capsized in Fox Lake Thursday afternoon, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said.
A 911 caller reported hearing people yelling for help near the lake’s north shore around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Crews were able to rescue a rural Fox Lake woman and take her to a hospital for treatment, but they are still searching for a rural Fox Lake man.
Public access at the Blackhawk Trail boat launch is being restricted while the search is underway.
The sheriff’s office warned high winds on the lake make it unsuitable for canoeing or kayaking. Neither person was wearing a personal flotation device.
