Woman killed in 29-car pile-up on Highway 151 laid to rest
BLANCHARDVILLE, Wis. — Cathy Hoelzel, 53, was the lone victim in the 29-car pile-up on Highway 151 south of Verona Monday morning.
Family and friends gathered for a visitation Friday night, and another will be held Saturday morning, followed by Hoelzel’s funeral.
Hoelzel was born in Ohio, but had been living with her husband in Blanchardville since 2000. She worked at SSM Dean as a payroll coordinator.
A second visitation will be held at Saturday at Blanchard Hall, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office said foggy conditions and speed contributed to the crash, which sent six other people to the hospital.
