Vernon County Sheriff deputies had to use a tire deflating device to stop a 19-year-old Desoto woman after she led them on a high-speed chase in two counties on Saturday morning.

Deputies were investigating a suspicious vehicle at the end of Hoover Road in the Town of Wheatland. During the investigation, authorities learned the owner of the car was Heidi L. Frawley, who authorities said had a felony arrest warrant because she did not appear for her court case.

A sheriff’s deputy was able to catch up to Frawley’s vehicle near Desoto and tried to pull her over. The sheriff’s office said she would not stop and increased her speed, at times going up to 70 miles per hour, and ignored multiple traffic signs.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist. Other responding Vernon County deputies deployed a tire deflating device south of State Highway 27/82 intersection in the Town of Franklin. Frawley’s vehicle tires were deflated and she safely came to a stop near the intersection. She was arrested without further incident and was transported to the Vernon County Detention Center.
