Wisconsin Union Theater to resume concerts in September

MADISON, Wis. — Concerts at Memorial Union’s Shannon Hall are set to return this fall. Audiences haven’t been allowed in the theater since it closed March 12, 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Wisconsin Union Theater’s 2021-22 concert series will kick off Sept. 30 with the first of six scheduled in-person events. The first show in the series is a performance by chamber orchestra Sphinx Virtuosi scheduled for Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m. A full list of acts is available online.
“We are looking forward to the feeling when the doors open and music once again fills Shannon Hall,” Wisconsin Union Theater Director Elizabeth Snodgrass said. “More than ever, we treasure the opportunity to share in-person performing arts experiences with our patrons.”
Organizers said many of the 2021-22 season performers were originally supposed to perform in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, which were cut because of the pandemic.
Tickets for the Wisconsin Union Theater’s 102 season are expected to go on sale in August.
