Wisconsin unemployment increases to 3.4 percent in August

MADISON, Wis. — Unemployment in Wisconsin rose to 3.4 percent in August.
The state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that the rate increased from 3.2 percent in July. It remains a full point below the national unemployment rate of 4.4 percent.
The state lost 5,200 private sector jobs between July and August.
