Wisconsin Rapids authorities investigate fatal fire
Authorities are investigating a fatal fire in Wisconsin Rapids.
Firefighters were dispatched to an apartment building around 3 p.m. Monday. Deputy Fire Chief Scott Young says they forced their way into the unit and found the resident dead.
Young says it’s likely that the fire occurred overnight and put itself out due to a lack of oxygen.
The 59 year old man’s name and cause of death were not immediately released.
