Wisconsin men’s hockey team starting to get votes in college poll

Wisconsin’s men’s hockey team hasn’t made it back into the nation’s top 20 ranked teams yet, but this week’s college hockey poll shows they are getting close.

 

The Badgers did earn 42 points in the poll, which would leave them 23 rd in the nation.

 

Four other Big Ten teams did make this week’s poll, including Ohio State at no. 11, Minnesota at no. 13, Penn State at no. 14 and Michigan at no. 17.

Minnesota-Duluth’s sweep of North Dakota over the weekend has vaulted UMD into the top spot in the USCHO.com college hockey rankings, with North Dakota falling two spots to third after suffering its first two losses of the season.

Denver moved up to second behind UMD.

The top 20 includes 8 New England teams, with Boston University at No. 4, and four from the Big Ten.

St. Cloud State is ranked 8th, while Minnesota State is 10th and Minnesota is 13th, and Bemidji State is 18th.
