Wisconsin heads into Big Ten play

Wisconsin football visits Northwestern Saturday at 2:30 p.m. It’s the Badgers’ first Big Ten game of the season as they try to win their fourth game in a row.

Northwestern is coming off a 29-6 upset win at Penn State and are trying to use that momentum to upset Wisconsin at Ryan Field. The Badgers haven’t won in Evanston since 1999.

Melvin Gordon knows, no matter how much they are favored, nothing is a given in the Big Ten.

“You gotta go hard every game, because you can’t ignore any team in the Big Ten.”

Northwestern dropped their first two games of the season to Cal and Northern Illinois. The Badgers aren’t looking at records. They’re only looking at the Wildcats.

“Regardless of what their record shows, any Big Ten team can beat you, so you’ve got to put your best foot forward,” Gordon added.

Heading into Northwestern, Badgers coach Gary Andersen also announced that Joel Stave has been elevated to the number two quarterback spot, saying “We’re excited to have him back.”

Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2.
