Wisconsin AP scores, participation climb in 2017

MADISON, Wis. — Student participation and performance on Advanced Placement tests improved across the board Wisconsin in 2017, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
According to the DPI, Wisconsin saw a 5.7 percent increase in participation in 2017, and 65.9 percent of Wisconsin test takers saw scores of three or higher on their tests, up from 65.5 percent in 2016.
“Congratulations to all those students who demonstrated their college readiness by taking advanced coursework and succeeding on Advanced Placement exams. The AP program is a great opportunity to get a jump start on requirements or electives for technical college and university studies. We need to continue efforts to extend opportunities for rigorous coursework to all students and support their success,” State Superintendent Tony Evers said in the release.
