William G. Madden

William G. “Gerty” Madden, age 53, of Janesville, died on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison. He was born in Janesville on June 19, 1962, the son of John R. and Ruth Ann (Barry) Madden, Sr. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from UW-Eau Claire. Bill married Wendy Richardson in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Janesville on Aug. 6, 1988. He had been employed by American Family Insurance. Bill was a founding member of the Janesville Youth Football League and was a board member and enjoyed coaching for many years. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Wisconsin Badgers fan. His euchre skills were legendary and he enjoyed a good hand of Texas hold’em.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Madden; sons, Andrew Madden of Janesville and Austin Madden of California; siblings: Jane (Jeff) Marks of California, John Madden, Jr. of Madison, Thomas (Janice) Madden of Janesville, Elizabeth Madden of Maryland, and Michael (Lori) Madden of Virginia; and many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at NATIVITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with Rev. Rob Butz officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY.
