William Wills

MIDDLETON – William (“Bump” or “Bill”) Wills, age 84, passed away peacefully due to end-stage COPD on Thursday, November 17, 2022. He was at his home in Middleton, WI, with his family by his side.

Bill was born in Madison on December 18, 1937. He attended Middleton High School before attending the U.S. Navy. Bill worked as a tinner in the sheet metal industry for Kilgust Mechanical in Monona, WI, for 35 years until his retirement. While not at work, he enjoyed helping on the family farm, fishing and hunting. Bill was a hard worker but liked to play hard too. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed spending time at Paul’s Neighborhood Bar having an “Old Shmile.” Bill was known to make people around him laugh with his quick wit and one-liners. His family was very important to him, especially his two grandsons, Alex and Aaron Wills.

Bill is survived by his two children, Cinde K. Porter (Norm Rimmer) of Craig, CO and James R. Wills (Caren King) of Middleton, WI; beloved grandsons, Alex Wills and Aaron Wills; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie (Hinrichs) Wills; parents, Ray and Irene Tank; his father and mother-in-law, Roman and Carrie Hinrichs; brother, Bobby Wills; and brother-in-law, Richard Hinrichs.

In keeping with Bill’s request, no services will be held.

The Family would like to extend a special thanks to Nikki and the other team members from Agrace along with family friend, Dave Cross, for the exceptional care they provided.

“My life was good, my life has past, I did all I could, and died real fast”…..”That’s Right.”
