Whitewater’s season ends in heartbreaking fashion

Whitewater baseball had everything under control in their D3 NCAA Regional game against Concordia-Chicago. Heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Warhawks had a 7-3 lead, and seemed poised for another win. Concordia had other ideas. Down to their final out of the game, the Cougars scored five runs to stun the Warhawks 8-7.
The Cougars took advantage of suspect pitching in the ninth inning. Concordia scored five runs on three hits, three walks, and a balk to complete the rally and end Whitewater’s season.
The Warhawks end the year with a 35-11 record.
