Which type of snowboard is right for you?

There is more to shopping for a snowboard than simply looking for just a snowboard. Like most athletic equipment, there are different types of snowboards based on how you want to use it.
Some types include:
All-mountain: The most common type of snowboard is the all-mountain. The majority of novice riders use this type. This board is good for riding on a mountain, runs, backcountry, and it can also be used in parks and pipes.
Freestyle/park: These boards are lighter and more flexible, making them ideal for jumps and tricks. These boards are great for parks and the pipe.
Freeride: These boards are designed for backcountry terrain. These can also be used on groomed runs, but aren’t meant for parks or the pipe. These boards offer a lot of stability to the rider.
Powder: These boards are meant for riders who primarily ride in deep snow in the backcountry. They are designed to keep from sinking in the deep snow.
