Neighborhood restaurant A la Brasa, which translates to “from the grill,” recently revamped their Peruvian menu to incorporate a more Mexican feel. However, their chicken tostadas are one favorite that remains the same. Although, like many menu items, they are served a la carte, these tostadas are quite filling—and better yet, they’re loaded with lots of green veggies you can feel good about eating. Each bite contains a perfect combination of all the ingredients, and a side of salsa verde will give it some kick. Pair with a bottle of Jarritos or Inca Kola, Mexican and Peruvian soft drinks, respectively, to round out the meal. With its location below the Metropolitan Apartments, this casual spot can often get overlooked, but for the quality of food and incredibly low prices, you cannot afford to pass A la Brasa by.
