Waupun earns Division 2 championship
Warriors shut down Jefferson offense
June 14, 2018 — Grand Chute – The Waupun baseball team got its redemption after losing in the state championship last year. The Warriors earned their first state title since 2007 with a 4-0 win over Jefferson in the Division 2 championship.
Second baseman Jak Lenz went 3 for 3 with two RBI doubles to lead the way for the Warriors. Caleb Sauer also drove in a run for Waupun. Caden Bronkhorst struck out nine batters over 6 2/3 innings to help seal the victory.
Jefferson loaded the bases in the seventh inning, but Vaughn Williston got Ryan Brost to pop out to end the game.
