Teams from all over the world will be hitting the water this weekend in Rock County for the World Water Ski Show Tournament.

For the second time, Janesville will host the tournament where five countries will complete against each other for the world title championship.

Each team will have two chances to compete during the three-day event, which is expected to bring over $4 million to the city.

“We want to host this World Water Ski Show because of the number of people that come, the economic impact, that’s what we are all about. We are all about promoting this sport,” World Water Ski Show Tournament Director Duane Snow said.

The tournament is held every two years. In 2012 the show brought 15,000 people to the area.

This year’s opening ceremony kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Traxler Park in Janeville.
