Walter George Washington Sprecher

Walter George Washington Sprecher passed away July 10, 2017.
Walter was born in Spring Green, Sauk County on February 22nd, 1922 to Arthur and Ethel (Strait) Sprecher. A veteran of World War II, Walter served as a Technical Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1942 until 1945, including a tour of duty in the Asian-Pacific Theater. He married Beulah Loraine Deckert on June 4th, 1947 at Five Points, Richland County. He graduated in 1950 from the State Teachers College at Platteville (now UW-Platteville) and taught in East Dubuque, Illinois as well as in Benton, Wisconsin, before moving to Pardeeville, Wisconsin, where he taught at Pardeeville High School for 24 years.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings Orville, Harlan, Ervin, Arline (Pace), Marvin, Lawrence, Lorene (Erickson). He is survived by his brother Milton, his sister Lorna (Anderson), his children Rhonda Lee (Ray) Bolton and Reginald Walter (Maria) Sprecher, and his grandchildren Ryan, Rory, and Reyna Bolton.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Friday, July 14 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St. Prairie Du Sac, WI with Pastor Fred Rilling officiating. Burial will be in the Sauk City Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 3:00 pm prior to the service.
