Walker helps fellow GOP governor launch campaign

Gov. Scott Walker joined South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as she officially kicked offer her re-election campaign Monday.
Haley is touting her jobs record and push against the federal government in her campaign.
Two other Republican governors joined Haley onstage at the rally outside the BI-LO Center in Greenville. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Texas Gov. Rick Perry spoke for several minutes along with Walker.
Haley said she invited them because they’re three outspoken reformers in their states, and it made sense to invite her friends for the occasion.
The rally, attended by several hundred people, will be followed by a private, high-dollar fundraiser with the potential presidential candidates.
Earlier Monday, Walker was in Oshkosh, where he talked about his hope to stimulate economic growth, by linking state businesses with local UW schools. He was at Oshkosh with the Partners in Business Development and Economic Growth Summit.
“We need to continue to do a better job of helping connect employers who have jobs open today to the people looking for work who may not have those skills for those positions,” Walker said.
The summit gives local businesses a deeper understanding of how they can benefit from the university.
