Walker announces $7.5 million in broadband access grants

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker announced Wednesday that applications for the second wave of broadband access grants are now open, which can be beneficial for rural Wisconsin communities.
According to the governor, $7.5 million is available in grant money.
“The access grants will help make sure that those homes on the outskirts whether it’s in the middle of the woods, or out in the outskirts of a farm or an area that’s been connected, that they can all have access at home. In addition, with the additional money that we are put into teach grants, they’ll be able to put hotspots on buses,” Walker said.
