Waldemar “Wally” Krause

Waldemar “Wally” Krause, age 81 of Mauston, Wisconsin died unexpectedly Monday, May 22, 2017 at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Picha Funeral Home, 321 Washington Avenue, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin with Reverend Craig Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Picha Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Wally was born January 5, 1936 in Germany the son of Otto and Anna (Syweisanek) Krause. He emigrated to the United States at the age of 20 and found work as a design engineer. In 1961 he married Ursula Elke and was blessed with 4 children. In the Wisconsin Dells area he also owned and operated the Chippewa Motel for over 20 years. Wally had a passion for life and a good days work. His family and grandchildren were his life and he loved them deeply.

Wally is survived by his wife, Ursula; son, Robert (Donna) Krause of California; daughters, Nancy (David) Harris of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Karen (Scott) Harrison of Reedsburg, Wisconsin and Margret Brooks of Mauston; sisters, Alice and Greta; grandchildren, Brooke, Rebecca, William, Whitley, Sarah, Tyler and Erin; and great grandchildren, Preston and Ivy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Heinz and 2 sisters, Julie and Sabrina.
