Man faces homicide charge in slaying of Matthew Graville

MADISON, Wis. — A man charged in the death of his half-brother has now been charged with felony intimidation of a witness.

Jeffrey Vogelsberg, who is being held the Dane County Jail, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse.

Prosecutors said Vogelsberg tortured and eventually killed Matthew Graville in Wisconsin last summer.

Graville’s body was not found until early November. Graville had Asperger’s syndrome, an autism-spectrum disorder.

A family member closely connected to the case received threats from Vogelsberg and confided in Dane County Sheriff’s Office detectives that he fears for his life and the lives of other family members, according to a Dane County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Detectives were able to substantiate the threats by Vogelsberg, and he was charged in Dane County Circuit Court on Thursday with a cash bail of $20,000, sheriff’s officials said.
