Vodka burglars smash window, make off with liquor worth hundreds of dollars
An east Madison liquor store has been robbed twice in three days by smash-and-grab burglars who made off with hundreds of dollars’ worth of booze, police said.
Madison police said officers responded to a burglar alarm at Harley’s Liquor and Bait on Atwood Avenue at 12:43 a.m. Wednesday. Police found the front window of the store shattered. The owner told police 19 bottles of vodka, with a retail value of more than $355, were missing.
Police responded to a similar call at Harley’s at 2:20 a.m. Sunday. A smash-and-grab burglar made off with 26 bottles of vodka, worth more than $500, according to the report.
