Virginia L. (Anderson) Norsman

STOUGHTON- Virginia L. (Anderson) Norsman, age 93, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

Virginia, a lifelong resident of Madison, was born Oct. 20, 1918, to John and Louise Anderson. She married Lynn Norsman of DeForest on Feb. 12, 1940, and together they raised two loving sons. A graduate of Madison West High School, Virginia was a pioneer and entrepreneur in the field of market research.

Over her 50 year career, she built a highly successful and nationally recognized business through her company, Norsman Interviewing Service. In 1992, Virginia sold her business and retired to spend time with family and friends-especially her great-grandchildren, who, like their parents, have learned so much and taken such pleasure from her fun-loving and generous spirit. Over her lifetime, Virginia was known for her love of life and compelling sense of humor. She shared her quick wit and joy with those around her, even in her final days. Most of all, she is remembered for her deeply held love of family, strong Christian faith and the cherished memories she now leaves behind.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lynn; five siblings; and granddaughter, Stephanie. She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Laurie) and David (Linda); her grandchildren, Brian (Sena), Brent (Shawna), Caroline (Scott) and their mother, Annette, and Scott, Corey and Joey; and her precious great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at ST. MARK’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 605 Spruce St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
