Viola “Vi” Halvorsen

Viola “Vi” Halvorsen, age 86, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells with Reverend Craig Wolfgram officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.
Vi was born May 6, 1931 in Sandwich, Illinois, the daughter of Claude and Frieda (Bone) Sears. Vi loved to travel (especially in Norway and Florida) and visit her friends and relatives. She enjoyed family Genealogy and hosting family gatherings. She loved the rural farming life and eventually bought her own farm. She was a life-long animal lover and was a volunteer at the Southeastern Guide Dog Facility for almost 20 years. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her and will be forever in our hearts.
Vi is survived by her husband, Alton (Al) of 66 years and 2 of her 4 sons, Steve (Ginny) and David (Janan); daughters, Linda H., Marlene H., Julie H., Dawn H.; grandchildren, Steve, Leigh, Vicki, Amy, Nick, Scott, Eric and Angela; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude (Velma) Sears and Frieda Bone; sons, Gary and Keith; parents-in-law, Nick and Marie Halverson; sister, Thelma (George) Steinbach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bethany Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
