Vergalene J. Olson-Bryant

MADISON/BONITA SPRINGS, FLA.- Vergalene J. Olson-Bryant, age 85, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Skaalen Home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 30, 1927, in Hastings, Mich. the daughter of Floyd and Esther (Marble) Buckley. Verg graduated from East Lansing High School in Michigan in 1944. She married Edward Olson on Feb. 22, 1946, and they moved to Madison. Before becoming a fulltime homemaker, Verg worked for American Family Insurance for many years. Her husband, Ed preceded her in death in 1995. Verg married Kenneth Bryant on Oct. 26, 1997. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bridge, growing roses, and spending time with her family.
Verg is survived by her husband, Ken; two daughters, Mechelle (Bradley) Beghin and Darci (David) Bryan; grandchildren, Jennifer (Cale) Halbleib, Amber, Joshua, and Chelci Bryan; step grandson , Daniel Beghin; great-grandchildren, Owen, Nora, Esme, and Elias Halbleib; stepchildren, Lynn (Gary) Hebl and Lisa (Brian) Schwarz; step-grandchildren, Andrew (Rita) Hebl, Matthew Hebl, Jennifer Hebl, Brandon, Mitchell and Garrett Schwarz; step great-grandchild, Lucas Hebl; and her canine companion, Lilly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013, with the Rev. James Koza presiding. A luncheon will follow the service in the Gunderson Community Room. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance at www.alzwisc.org.
