Vehicle strikes girl on bike in McFarland

An 8-year-old girl who was riding a bicycle was seriously injured when she was hit by a Suburban on Tuesday afternoon in McFarland, police said.

The Suburban struck the girl at the intersection of Johnson, Bashford and Milwaukee streets and Creamery Road just after 4 p.m., police said.

Police said the woman driving the Suburban stopped to help the girl after the crash.

Police said the girl, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, was transported by helicopter to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.
