UPDATE: Madison Police cancel Green Alert after missing veteran found safe

MADISON, Wis. — UPDATE: Madison Police just issued a statement that Andrew R. Olson has been found safe. They are not releasing any other details at this time. In an earlier copy of this story, we referred to the missing man as Matthew R. Olson. MPD corrected their press release, so we amended his name in our story as well.
The City of Madison Police Department has issued a Green Alert for a missing veteran they believe to be at risk.
Andrew Richard Olson, 22, was last seen around 10:45 p.m. Saturday walking along the 1300 block of East Washington Avenue. Police said Olson was drunk when he left his friends. They said that his history and statements made to friends give them reason to be concerned for his well-being.
Olson is currently a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard and was in Madison for weekend drills.
He is 5′,8″ tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has crew-cut blonde hair and was last seen wearing a black hoodie with red stripes down the side; the sweatshirt reads 321BCT across the chest.

If you know anything about Olson’s whereabouts, you’re asked to contact the Madison Police Department at 608-255-2345.
