Update: Authorities release name of man who drowned in Lake Wisconsin

Columbia County authorities released the name of the man who was pulled from Lake Wisconsin Friday evening near Lodi.

Steven G. Michener, 49, of New Lenox, Illinois was reported missing in the water at 1:41 p.m. Friday.

Crews recovered Michener’s body about 3 hours later. No resuscitation efforts were made. The investigation will continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, but no foul play was suspected, officials said.

Investigators say Michener had been on a pontoon boat before he went in the water. It wasn’t clear if he entered the water by accident or to swim.
