Unoccupied School Bus Rolls Into River In Darlington
An unoccupied school bus parked near a bus company apparently slipped out of gear and rolled into a nearby river early Wednesday morning. No one was injured, according to Darlington police.
Police were dispatched at about 3:30 a.m. on a report that the front end of the bus was submerged in the Pecatonica River.
Authorities said that they believe the bus, which was parked near the busing company, located near the Main Street bridge, slipped out of gear and began to roll. The bus eventually came to rest with the front portion submerged in the river.
Police said that no one was injured.
They said the bus was towed out of the river.
