Tyler James Russell

Tyler Russell

Tyler James Russell, age 17, of Black Earth, left us all too soon on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022. He was an amazing young man loved by many.

Tyler was born on June 22, 2005, in Prairie du Sac, the son of James and Kimberly (De Smet) Russell. He was a senior at Wisconsin Heights High School.

Tyler was an avid outdoorsman, taking Hunter Safety at the young age of 8 and scoring the second highest in his class. He was wise beyond his years and excelled at anything he put his mind to. He loved hunting, fishing, trapping, cooking, camping, four wheeling, and playing soccer. Anything outdoors. He was also mechanically inclined. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines and could work on cars as well. It was amazing what all that young man was capable of.

Tyler was a wealth of knowledge and didn’t hesitate to help others. He had a heart of gold protected by his strong exterior. He was loyal and compassionate, serious but playful, and was always making people laugh. He was quite witty and entertaining. Such a blessing to be around.

Tyler is survived by his parents, James and Kimberly Russell; six brothers, Christopher, Matthew, Dustin, Jesse, Thomas and William Russell, who all affectionately called him “Bear”; maternal grandparents, Timothy and Debra De Smet; and paternal grandma, Brenda (Jerry Stenli) Russell-Stenli. He was preceded in death by paternal grandpa, Terry Russell.

A funeral service will be held at VERMONT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 9886 Vermont Church Road, Black Earth, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO BLACK EARTH FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1710 Center St., Black Earth, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, and also at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service on Saturday. Tyler would want you to dress casual or wear your favorite flannel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tyler’s family for a fund to be established.

Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
