MADISON, Wis. — Police are looking for burglars who stole two cars and other items from a home on the east side of Madison.

Madison police said at 2:15 a.m. Thursday the thieves used a garage door opener inside a locked car parked on the home’s driveway to get into the home on Wintergreen Drive near the interstate.

Keys and other items were taken from inside the home, in addition to two of the three cars parked on the driveway at the time.

A barking dog alerted several of the residents inside the home.

MPD is still investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
