Two cars crash into Sun Prairie apartment building; 3 families displaced

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Two cars crashed into an apartment building overnight, displacing three families who were inside the building at the time.

Sun Prairie police said the crash happened around 10:10 p.m. after one of the drivers hit the other vehicle while both were driving south on Highway 151 south of Windsor Street. Both vehicles then left the highway and hit the apartment building adjacent to the roadway.

Authorities said one of the drivers was driving drunk at the time. That driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and Sun Prairie police said more charges could be issued as the investigation moves forward.

Both vehicles had two people inside at the time, though only one of the occupants was injured. That person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one inside the apartment building was injured.

All three families that were displaced were able to find another place to stay Thursday night.
