Twilight 10K, half marathon to impact Madison traffic, police say
Two race events this weekend will impact traffic in downtown Madison, officials said.
University of Wisconsin-Madison police said the Madison Twilight 10K will wind its way through campus Saturday night. Parts of Park Street and Observatory Drive will be closed to traffic from 8 p.m. until about 9:45 p.m. Other roads will be one-way only as race participants will occupy a traffic lane for running. UWPD officers will help direct traffic.
At 7 a.m. Sunday the Madison Half Marathon will kick off, closing parts of Park Street and Observatory Drive, police said. Other campus roadways will also be one-way traffic. The course is expected to finish at about 11:30 a.m.
The city of Madison said Metro buses will detour from the downtown area and UW campus Saturday and Sunday due to the races. For a list of the detoured routes, visit Cityofmadison.com.
