Tri It: It’s Not Just for Ironmen Anymore

I just finished a story on kids’ triathlons for the August issue, so I’m not going to spoil it here. However, I did want to plug an event in my own back yard.
The Sawyer Crossen Memorial Triathlon is fast approaching. It’s a kids’ tri on June 1 in Monona. The event raises money in memory of Sawyer, who died in infancy, and the funds go back to a local school and the parks and recreation department. More than a fundraiser, though, this is a really cool opportunity for kids to get out and accomplish a physical feat. The course is well supported, and post-race activities include face painting, music and a bunch of local mascots–including Bucky Badger.
