Traffic Stop Results In Heroin Arrests In Grant Co.

Two men were arrested on heroin possession charges following a traffic stop Saturday night in Grant County.

A Grant County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a car for speeding at about 8:45 p.m. on Highway 18 in the town of Wingville.

A Grant County Sheriff’s Department K-9 arrived at the scene, and the K-9 indicated that the odors of narcotics were present in the car, according to a Grant County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Authorities said the car’s driver, Ben Everson, 24, of Fennimore, was searched and he was found to be in possession of heroin. Additional heroin and drug paraphernalia was also located in the car, according to the news release.

Everson and his passenger, Brad Millin, 23, of Lancaster, were taken into custody without incident and are being held in the Grant County Jail without bond, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials said Everson was arrested on a felony possession of heroin charge and three counts of felony bail jumping.

Millin was arrested on a felony possession of heroin charge and additional drug charges are pending, according to the news release.
