Tomlinson keeps Poynette softball rolling

Poynette softball coach Bob Tomilson has been teaching players for 35 years and his teams have won three WIAA state championships.
He says a lot has changed during a coaching journey that started in 1980.
“When I started, I had girls using wooden bats,” says Tomlinson.
Tomlinson has been a driving force in the development of girls softball in Wisconsin.
He’s not only coached girls in Poynette, but dozens in rival towns as well- all to improve the sport.
“If we increase the level of the competition we face, the game itself gets better, more exciting, more interesting and just becomes a better product,” he said.
Tomlinson’s Poynette team is currently ranked second in the state in Division Three.
