Tomah man arrested on 10th OWI charge
Trooper pulled man over for speeding
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin State Patrol said it has arrested a man on a charge of 10th-offense operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The State Patrol said Paul L. Premo, 53, of Tomah, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Monroe County.
Authorities said a trooper stopped Premo for speeding at 69 mph in a 55 mph zone on state Highway 16 at state Highway 71.
Upon making contact with Premo, the trooper detected a strong odor of intoxicants and administered a field sobriety test, according to a Wisconsin State Patrol news release.
Premo was subsequently placed under arrest, taken to Franciscan Skemp-Sparta Campus for a legal blood draw and then transported to the Monroe County Jail, according to the news release.
