Tom Wopat holiday show in Stoughton canceled after accusation he assaulted a cast member

STOUGHTON, Wis. — The Stoughton Opera House canceled Tom Wopat’s “Home for the Holidays” show in light of the Wisconsin native’s need to focus on “resolving some personal affairs,” according to a release from the venue.
In August, the 65-year-old actor was accused of assaulting a cast member during a rehearsal for “42nd Street,” according to a release from the District Attorney’s office in Waltham, Massachusetts.
“We have reached a mutual agreement with Mr. Wopat that it is best to cancel the show as he focuses on resolving some personal affairs,” the opera house said in the release.
The holiday show was scheduled to take place Dec. 2. While Wopat will not perform, the Stoughton Opera House is working on scheduling another show, according to the release.
