Thousands without power as severe weather moves through Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — Over 3,300 Alliant Energy customers are still without power in Wisconsin after severe thunderstorms moved through the state Saturday.

The majority of the outages are in the middle of the state, with over 3,000 customers in the dark in Winnebago County, according to the provider’s website as of 4 p.m. Sunday. The outages have decreased from a peak of over 11,000 statewide at 8 p.m. Saturday.

49 Dane County Alliant customers are also without power. It is unclear when all Alliant customers will have power restored.

239 Madison Gas and Electric customers are also without power Saturday, according to the company’s website. That’s down from a peak of nearly 500. The outages are spread out across MG&E’s service area. Some customers on Madison’s east side are not estimated to have power restored until 6 p.m. Monday.

We Energies is reporting that over 6,800 customers are without power in their service area according to the company’s website. Four counties in the provider’s service area (Marquette, Outagamie, Ozaukee and Washington) each have over 1,000 reported outages.
