MADISON-Thomas Michael Gorman, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at home.

He was born on June 29, 1941, in Madison, the son of Thomas and Theresa (Littel) Gorman. Thomas graduated from Madison Central High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army in 1963 until 1965. After the military, Thomas worked as a construction laborer until his retirement in 1996. He was a proud member of Construction Laborers Local 464. During his retirement he loved spending time in Las Vegas and later in Florida.

Thomas was a lifelong devoted fan of the LA Dodgers and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed watching old war movies, especially John Wayne films. More than anything he treasured his time spent with family and friends. He had a strong sense of family and an unshakeable loyalty to those he loved, especially his children. Thomas had the unique ability to make and maintain lasting friendships wherever he went.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Thomas is survived by sons, Jarred Gorman, and Scott Nelson; two daughters, Debra Chamberlin and Laurie (Brian) Mell; sister, Jane (Gary) Rolfsmeyer; brother, Larry (Janet) Gorman; grandchildren, Justin, Josh, Max, Samantha, Shannen, James, Nichole, and Molly; great-grandson, Mason; and many other dear family members and friends. Thomas maintained good relationships with both of his former wives, Karen McCoy and Ann Gorman. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Jason Gorman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC PARISH AT THE ST. JAMES CHURCH, 1128 St. James Ct. Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, with Fr. Jay Poster presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Home Health United. Thomas’ family takes great comfort in knowing that he is finally reunited with his son Jason.
