Teen reportedly jumps from moving van, in critical condition
A Tomah teenager remains in critical condition after jumping from a moving vehicle on Sunday afternoon.
Monroe County Sheriff Scott Perkins said a 16-year-old girl riding in back seat of a van opened the door and jumped from the vehicle on County Road A in the town of Wilton at about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Perkins said the driver, Katherine L. Wolf, 48, of Tomah, tried to help Rebecca J. Wolf until first responders arrived. Perkins said Rebecca Wolf was taken via Med Flight to Gundersen Health System. She was still listed in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol are still investigating the incident.
The Wilton Fire Department, Wilton EMS, Tomah Ambulance Service and Med-link Air also assisted the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
