Teen missing from Door County found in Chicago

CHICAGO — A missing Door County teenager has been found in Chicago.

Sturgeon Bay police said 17-year-old Louis Jefferson Amelinckx was reported missing after he left his hometown on Monday with two men. Police said investigators believe he went to an apartment complex in Green Bay, where he stayed for several hours before going to Oshkosh.

Police said a woman gave Amelinckx a ride Wednesday afternoon from Oshkosh to Milwaukee. She told police she dropped him off in a McDonald’s parking lot at the corner of 25th and National. The woman told police Amelinckx wasn’t in any distress when she left him.

Amelinckx was found Friday at 12:50 a.m. in Chicago and taken to a hospital for evaluation. He was reunited with his mother.
