Teen found guilty of 5 felonies for sexual assault

Adore Thomas was found guilty Thursday of attacking and sexually assaulting a jogger in 2013.

The 16-year-old was charged with five felony counts as an adult, including three counts of first-degree sexual assault with the user of a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery and strangulation.

A criminal complaint said a woman was running on Winnebago Street and was approached by Thomas when he grabbed her from behind and slammed her to the ground. She tried to use her pepper spray to stop him, but it didn’t work.

A sentencing hearing has not been scheduled.
