Stoughton boys basketball made history Tuesday night at Monona Grove High School.
It was Cardinals vs. Cardinals Friday night as Middleton hosted Sun Prairie in boys basketball action. Middleton used an 18-0 run to build a lead that was too big for Sun Prairie to overcome as Middleton came away with a 58-52 win.
Verona is the hottest team in Big Eight girls hoops. Saturday, they beat first place Janesville Craig on the road. Friday, in News 3's Prep Mania Game of the Week, the Wildcats beat a very good Janesville Parker team 50-36.
Mount Horeb boys basketball came into Tuesday's game with DeForest losers of four straight games. The Vikings didn't let that effect them as they hit fourteen threes en route to a 75-47 win over the Norskies.

Thursday night at Breitenbach Stadium, Waunakee avenged last year's loss, running through Madison Edgewood 49-21.
Thursday, Prep Mania's game of the Week visited Middleton, where the Cardinals traded blows with Sun Prairie for nearly two hours and firty-five minutes before Michael Marchese's infield single gave Sun Prairie an 8-7 win.

Monona Grove had a chance to clinch the Badger South Conference Tuesday. All they needed was to win at Edgewood and for Stoughton to upset Oregon. They got both.
This week, Mount Horeb took over the top spot in the Division Two rankings. Tuesday, they put their undefeated record, and top ranking, on the line as they hosted Reedsburg. After a back and forth first half, the Vikings took control in the second half. They won 49-42.

Sun Prairie came into Friday's Prep Mania Game of the Week after a string of close wins to remain undefeated in the Big 8.
Middleton started their season on a low note; a blowout loss to Memorial at home. Since then, the Cardinals haven't lost. In our Game of the Week Friday night, Middleton jumped all over Verona early and held off the Wildcats 35-28.
In our Prep Mania Game of the Week, Monona Grove remained undefeated on the season as they dominated Edgewood 27-9.
Waunakee played two games Tuesday at Murphy Field. Sort of. First, they resumed play of last Monday's game, which was tied 3-3 in the 9th inning, then suspended due to weather. Portage ended up winning the game in walk-off fashion on the 10th.
A month ago on the baseball diamond, Middleton beat Sun Prairie 5-2. That game was at Middleton. During Tuesday's Prep Mania Game of the Week, this time in Sun Prairie, the home team got revenge against their Big Eight rivals with a 3-2 Sun Prairie win in eight innings.
