Morocco has had an unexpected helping hand from U.S. President Donald Trump over the last few months in its bid to win the right to stage the 2026 World Cup, according to a member of the North African country's bid.
Hope Solo says she would prefer the 2026 World Cup to be awarded to a "more deserving country" than the U.S., which is jointly bidding with Mexico and Canada.
